Theory of innocence
In a case involving capital
punishment the court should not lightly take the plea of innocence of the
accused persons. Any reasonable theory of innocence of the accused must be
carefully considered in such a case involving capital punishment. If there is
any iota of doubt as to the guilt of the accused, the Court cannot convict him
and award him a death sentence. The State Vs. Manjur, 15BLD(HCD)193
